Premium A2P messaging is a way for businesses to send messages to their customers that are more than 160 characters in length. These messages can include things like appointment reminders, marketing messages, or customer service notifications.

Tata Communications Ltd

Formerly known as Videsh Sanchar Nigam Limited, Tata Communications Limited is an Indian telecom business (VSNL). The Department of Telecommunications, Ministry of Communications, Government of India, owned it while it was a government-owned supplier of communications services. When Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the Bharatiya Janta Party, and the National Democratic Alliance were in power, it was sold to the Tata Group by the Department of Telecommunications, Ministry of Communications, and Government of India. Currently, the business is a member of the Tata Group.

Route Mobile was founded in Mumbai in May 2004 to provide as a cloud communications platform for mobile network operators and over-the-top (OTT) services (MNO). Call 2 Connect, an ITES provider with headquarters in India, was purchased by Route Mobile in May 2017.

Syniverse

A US-based provider of communications services is called Syniverse. GTE Telecommunications Services Inc., a GTE corporate entity, launched it in 1987. The company has regional offices in Costa Rica, Argentina, Dubai, Luxembourg, and Hong Kong in addition to its worldwide headquarters in Tampa, Florida. On August 17, 2021, Syniverse and M3-Brigade Acquisition II Corp. reached an agreement to merge. After the transaction is finished, Syniverse will start trading on the NYSE. The merged business is worth $2.8 billion after the transaction.

Approximately 235 of Syniverse’s clients were impacted by a compromise of its Electronic Data Transfer (EDT) systems, the company reported to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on September 27, 2021.

AT&T

AT&T Inc. is an American multinational telecommunications holding company that is Delaware-registered but headquartered at Whitacre Tower in Downtown Dallas, Texas. It is the third largest supplier of mobile telephone services in the United States and the largest telecoms corporation in the world by revenue. With $168.8 billion in revenue as of 2022, AT&T was the thirteenth-largest American firm according to the Fortune 500 list.

The separation of WarnerMedia and subsequent merger with Discovery, Inc. to establish Warner Bros. Discovery were completed on April 8, 2022. HBO Max and other video services were removed from AT&T’s unlimited plan as a result of this merger.

CLX Communications (Sinch AB)

Sinch, originally CLX Communications, is a cloud communications platform as a service (PaaS) provider for the telecoms industry. In addition to having offices in more than 30 locations across the world, including Atlanta, London, Madrid, San Francisco, Singapore, and Sydney, Sinch has its headquarters in Stockholm, Sweden.

In order to “enable brand marketers with the next generation of messaging services using Rich Communications Services (RCS) standard embedded directly into customers’ native messaging apps,” CLX and Google entered into a strategic agreement in 2017. As a participant in Google’s Early Access Program (EAP), CLX will make it possible for businesses to develop using RCS and be among the first to provide an improved messaging experience. Unwire Communication ApS[21], a Danish business, was up for sale to CLX in a formal agreement in March 2018. The asking price was DKK 148 million.  When all is done, CLX will surpass all other CPaaS vendors in the Nordic region.  They revealed that they had paid $8 million to acquire Seattle-based startup Vehicle the next month.

TWILIO INC.

On August 4, 2022, a phishing SMS campaign that targeted Twilio’s staff allowed an unidentified attacker access to the company’s internal network. Three days later, Twilio acknowledged the incident and made it clear that “a limited number” of customer accounts were impacted. Signal revealed on August 15 that it had been impacted by the incident, indicating that at least part of the 125 affected customers were enterprise accounts.
