1.Nel ASA receives a purchase order for 10 MW of electrolyzer equipment from Samsung C&T

January 19, 2024

For approximately EUR 5 million, Nel Hydrogen Electrolyser AS, a subsidiary of Nel ASA, and Samsung C&T Corporation Engineering & Construction Group (‘Samsung C&T’) have signed a contract for 10 MW of alkaline electrolyzer equipment for Nel’s first off-grid green hydrogen production project to be deployed in South Korea.

This is a formal purchase order for balance-of-stacks (BoS) and alkaline stacks. The world’s first fully automated electrolyzer production line, located in the Herøya facility in Norway, will make the electrodes.

2.Reliance, Jindal, Adani Secure Electrolyzer Capacity in SECI Tender

In a recent tender, Solar Energy Corp. of India (SECI) selected eight businesses to share 1.5 GW of electrolyzer production capacity.

In its most recent 1.5 GW electrolyzer manufacturing tender, SECI granted capacity to eight bidders in accordance with India’s production-linked incentives program.

Reliance has obtained incentives for the production of 300 MW of electrolyzers using any stack technology. John Cockerill Greenko Hydrogen Solutions and Jindal India have also earned incentives for 300 MW apiece in the category. Ohmium (137 MW), Advait Infratech (100 MW), and L&T Electrolyzers (63 MW) are the other winners.

Adani New Industries and Homihydrogen have been granted incentives to manufacture electrolyzers using stack technology that was created domestically. These have obtained subsidies for capacities of 101.5 MW and 198.5 MW, respectively.

3.Adani arm bags order from Solar Energy Corp for Electrolyzer Manufacturing Unit

Adani Enterprises Ltd. announced that Adani New Industries Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary, had obtained a noteworthy letter of award (LoA) from the Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd.

To set up manufacturing capacity for electrolyzers in India under the Strategic Interventions for Green Hydrogen Transition Scheme (Tranche-I), Adani New Industries Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the company, received a Letter of Award (LoA) from Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) on January 11, 2024, at 7:59 p.m., according to a stock exchange filing.

The Letter of Agreement (LoA) concerns the creation of an electrolyzer production facility in India in accordance with the Strategic Interventions for Green Hydrogen Transition Scheme (Tranche-I).

4.Jakson Green to Ship First Green Hydrogen Electrolyser in 2024-Starts

January 2, 2024

In a few months, the energy transition platform Jakson Green plans to ship its first green hydrogen electrolyzer. The managing director and Managing Director, Bikesh Ogra, stated that they are collaborating with technology suppliers to manufacture electrolyzers and are now in the advanced phases of this process. Partnerships with businesses that specialize in other electrolysis methods, such as PEM, AEM, or alkaline, are being considered.

The business intends to increase its capacity to one gigawatt after launching a 100-megawatt electrolyzer production unit. They are in discussions with technical partners for joint production projects in the United States and abroad.

In order to offer green methanol at ports, Jakson Green is also collaborating with marine shipping lines. Approximately 8–10% of the total output of green molecules is intended to be in the form of methanol and ethanol.

They are also working with NTPC to establish a 10-ton per day green methanol manufacturing facility. This entails extracting carbon dioxide from the flue gases of thermal power plants, producing hydrogen by electrolysis, and finally producing green methanol.

One of their objectives is to produce 0.5 million metric tonnes per annum (mmtpa) of green hydrogen and its derivatives by 2030. They are now taking part in tenders for port land allocation at Indian green hydrogen hubs.
